Spencer worked as Consultant Development Director up until
October 2009 to the BRDC which owns the 760 acre
Silverstone estate and hosts the British Grand Prix. He
obtained approval from the local authority for a
comprehensive Masterplan for the estate which will
offer the potential to realise the inherent commercial
value of the Silverstone heritage and brand. The first
phase being a new pit and paddock complex that allows
the circuit to host more international motoring events
in addition to the grand prix.
New university facilities were also planned alongside
other commercial developments in later phases which
will reinforce Silverstone and Motor Sports Valley as
the world's centre for motor engineering excellence.
