Asset Plus One owns 50% of Cannon Lane Properties (CLP)
which is a development vehicle for us. In 2007 CLP, together
with its equity partner purchased a 5 acre brown-field site
in Tonbridge with planning consent for retail warehousing.
This lies adjacent to a 2 acre riverside site owned by the
Environment Agency (EA) controlled by CLP under a
Lock-Out Agreement. CLP saw the potential for a
residential led mixed use redevelopment of the entire
site and has been working closely with Tonbridge and
Malling Borough Council and the EA to identify an
exemplar solution to the sensitivities posed by the
floodplain locations. We have now exchanged a
contract for the sale of the scheme subject
to planning.
